Soller and Puerto de Soller

The historic town of Soller lies in a fertile bowl shaped valley surrounded by the rugged beauty of the Tramuntana mountain range, and is approximately 3km inland from the Port of Soller. Surrounding the town are acres and acres of traditional terraced olive trees and abundant orange groves. The main town is centred around the town square, which is lined by various cafes and restaurants as well as the church of Saint Bartholomew. Follow any of the narrow, polished stone streets away from the square and you will find beautiful architecture dating back to the 14th century.

Soller and the Port of Soller used to be very isolated from the rest of the island due to the high impenetrable mountains to the south of the town. Now, however, Soller and the Port of Soller are about 30 minutes drive from Palma airport via the Soller tunnel. A great way to travel between Palma and Soller is by the Palma-Soller railway which dates back to 1912 and still operates with the original carriages. Once in Soller you can then take a tram from the town to the Port of Soller to walk along the beautiful pedestrianised promenade lined by a multitude of cafes, shops, and restaurants.

Port Soller Mallorca

The port is a natural horseshoe shaped harbour that is now being compared with other beautiful ports such as Monaco due to the abundance of beautiful boats that come to berth here. Surrounded on three sides by the imposing beauty of the Tramuntana Mountains the port makes for a fantastic place to visit. For a more spectacular view of the coastline and mountains take a boat charter along the North West coast.
